About Dr. Véronique Belzil

Dr. Veronique Belzil joined Dr. Leonard Petrucelli’s laboratory at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville in 2012, after obtaining her Ph.D in Neurosciences from the University of Montreal. Her graduate and post-doctoral studies aim to uncover the genetic and epigenetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), in order to identify disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets for ALS. Dr. Belzil has been involved in numerous fundraising events and awareness campaigns for ALS over the last eight years, and is the recipient of several fellowships and awards to support her studies on ALS.
