We’ll never forget August 2014.
It was after that turning point that we vowed to continue, every August, to recreate the wave of hope with which the Ice Bucket Challenge submerged the ALS community. One bucket of ice cold water at a time, the viral phenomenon led to millions of dollars being raised for ALS research, in addition to financing top notch programs and services for families who live with the disease. Many promising discoveries have been made thanks to all those who got soaked for the cause and it is only a matter of time before ALS finally becomes a treatable disease.
Three years later, we still need you at our side to fight ALS. Even though we’ve traded the ice bucket for other challenges, let’s remain united against those three little letters that completely change one’s life.
This August, give hope to the ALS community in your own way!
From August 25th to the 27th, come celebrate the 10th edition of the Ride to Fight ALS with us at the Château Vaudreuil. On Sunday, August 27th, discover the magnificent Vaudreuil-Dorion region by cycling 70 km. A lunch will await you outdoors once you cross the finish line for a festive afternoon. Family and friends are welcome. A two-day and a three-day ride are also offered.
ALS will not magically disappear. It’s by taking concrete actions that we can hope for a future without ALS. On Saturday, August 26th, help us further our mission by joining us for a Magical Evening, which is part of the Ride To Fight ALS cycling event. Plenty of surprises await you at the Château Vaudreuil Pavilion to make your evening memorable! We would be pleased to experience these magical moments with you.
Join the hundreds of participants and volunteers who contribute to the success of the 10 Walks for ALS across the province. Find a walk near you, gather your family and friends and walk in honor or in memory of a loved one touched by ALS.
To each their own challenge. Whether you organize an Ice Bucket Challenge, a sporting event or a bake sale, push your limits and inspire your community to do the same. Every initiative, no matter how small, has a direct impact on the lives of the families living with ALS.
On October 7th and 8th, make your way into the heart of the Eastern Townships for the long distance charity run event, Bromont Ultra. Whether by yourself or as part of a team, run 2 to 160 km on trails to support our mission – the ALS Society of Québec is one of the official organizations associated with the event.
Our volunteers are the cornerstone of our events and an integral part of our team. Each and every one of them has a special talent that contributes directly to the fulfillment of our mission. Would you like to put your professional or personal skills to the service of the Society? There’s always room for an additional player on Team ALS!
Each donation allows Canadian researchers to undertake ground-breaking work in order to understand and demystify the complex disease that is ALS. On August 9th and 10th, discover the impact that those donations have had on research by participating in a series of free webinars on ALS research, presented by ALS Canada.
As each case of ALS is different, providing our members with adapted and personalized support is essential. By making a donation to ALS Quebec, you directly contribute to offering psychosocial, technical and financial support to families touched by ALS at every stage of the disease.
